Introduction
Dear Patron,
Welcome to SteamNet!
Energy conservation today has transformed from
a mere "buzzword" to something that is a need of the hour! This need may originate
from our consciousness to the environment or even from our desire to cut the manufacturing
cost! Most of us have undertaken some form of energy conservation measures. What
limits our efforts on energy conservation is mainly our knowledge of energy conservation.
This gap appears prominently during our interactions as a company as well as during
a survey we conducted with some of the plants which conveyed 90% of the members
seek a platform to discuss topics related to steam and energy conservation. To meet
this requirement we are proud to present to you SteamNet. This platform is your
mandate and contains features that you - the plant engineering teams, thought were
necessary. We are really thankful to all those of you who have taken the time out
to fill our surveys and give shape to this network, including in naming the network!
In the first phase the network is enabled with the following features:
1.Discussion
forum, which enables members to interact with each other on encon related topics
by holding conversations in the form of posted messages. Members can participate
in existing threads (conversations) or create their own need based threads under
broad classifications. The site at present has generic encon topics for discussion
but as the community grows our plan is to create industry specific forums.
2.Questions & Answers, where every month we will invite a domain expert to share
information and answer queries on a focused encon subject.
3.Blogs, a space provided
on steamnet where members can publish and share their own experiences or thoughts.
4.The Resource Centre section, which will contain a wealth of information and tools
on encon online in the form of articles, calculators, presentations and images.
In time, with content contribution from steamnet members and our own contribution
we expect this archive to grow, possibly making it the single most comprehensive
resource centre on encon online.
This is only the beginning. As the network grows
we will enable the network with many more features that will not only enrich the
network but make it more interesting as well! You will become more familiar with
the network as you start using it. In case of any doubts you can visit the help
section or write to us at steamnet@forbesmarshall.com
We hope you have a great experience
with SteamNet.
Cheers!
Team SteamNet
