On World Health Day, Forbes Marshall reaffirmed its commitment to health and well-being by organising two focused First Aid Refresher sessions, led by Dr Mahesh Shete from the Forbes Marshall Healthcare Foundation. These sessions were specially curated to empower individuals working in environments where quick, informed responses can make a life-saving difference.

Session 1: Strengthening Response Readiness Among Our Manufacturing Teams

The first session was conducted for our manufacturing members at the Chakan facility. These team members are actively engaged in critical operations, where minor injuries or health emergencies may arise during daily shifts.

The refresher aimed to:

  • Equip members with essential first aid knowledge to respond to emergencies swiftly
  • Reinforce the importance of timely assistance before medical professionals arrive
  • Promote a culture of preparedness, care, and responsibility on the shopfloor

The session was practical, engaging, and tailored to real-life scenarios, ensuring ease of understanding and application in day-to-day work environments.

Session 2: Empowering Field Staff of the Girls’ Scholarship Project

The second session was held for the field coordinators of our Girls’ Scholarship Project, which supports over 1,200 girls from Year 8 to Year 12 in 29 secondary schools across remote areas of the Chakan-Khed block, extending from Savardari to Dehne, near Bhimashankar.

These girls come from economically vulnerable families with limited access to healthcare or transport. Many face frequent absences from school due to common illnesses such as fever, body aches, and menstrual discomfort.

The training focused on:

  • Enabling field staff to manage basic health issues while working in remote communities
  • Providing first-level aid and reassurance to the girls and their families
  • Supporting continued school attendance and health awareness in underserved regions

This session ensures that our coordinators are well-prepared to act as first responders in areas where immediate medical help is not always available — reinforcing our commitment to education, empowerment, and community well-being.

Our Commitment to Health for All

Both sessions echoed the true spirit of World Health Day – Health for All, by making first aid knowledge accessible where it’s needed most. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Mahesh Shete for leading these impactful sessions and to Dr Deepak Gore for his support.

At Forbes Marshall, we believe that being prepared is not just a skill – it’s a responsibility. Whether in a manufacturing unit or a remote village, timely care makes all the difference.
