I had been a part of CII-FM. AA Control Instrumentation training batch-35 conducted in 2023-24.
During my college placements, we received a message from Forbes Marshall regarding the CII-FM training programme. For a long time, I was not clear whether to go for it or not.! Finally, I applied for it, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
I still clearly remember the day 22nd Sept 2023, that’s when I entered the organization as a CII trainee. I was nervous but also curious about what will happen next. On the same day, I met my mentor Mr. C.S. Dhamankar. From the next day onwards, we, the new birds, were set free into the ocean of knowledge. We were motivated, curious and ready for the challenges. The training began with 15 days of classroom sessions on wide ranging control instrumentation products & systems, followed by the hands-on training in the factory where we get complete practical knowledge on all products/systems.
In my opinion, the CII-FM training programme goes far beyond control instrumentation. In this training you get lessons also for overall development, shaping yourself into a good professional along with the technical hands-on experience on all FM products in detail.
I got to attend the Wednesday workshops for my all-round development. These covered the sessions such as Presentation skills, Communication skills, Interview skills, Resume building, Supply chain management, Lean manufacturing and many more by the experts of the respective field.
Mr. C.S. Dhamankar personally conducted my SWOT analysis, through which I learned about my strengths and areas for improvement. His analysis and guidance have greatly helped me during and after the training. I also got engaged in my favourite Actual User Sales department in the Extended Learning phase under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Patil. Here I was working on the real time projects and visiting different customer sites with the industry experts. Extended learning is a great learning opportunity to develop yourself for the given job role – true for any organisation.
Today’s corporate world is demanding in terms of soft skills along with a given technical proficiency. In CII-FM training I learnt all the necessary soft skills along with all the good values needed in daily corporate life. After this training, I can say that I have gained enough experience to enter and progress fast in the current industrial scenario. I feel without the CII-FM training program, it would have been difficult for me to grow so rapidly as a professional.
I have always believed that “With good intent and hard work, anything is possible.” With this belief, I worked hard during the training program and became the topper of the batch. After this, I also got the opportunity to be a part of the FM family after being recruited in Krohne Sales. I am grateful that I continue to be associated with an organization that has good values and a great working culture.
