My story began on 27th Nov 2016 when I was selected for CII FM training Batch -15 (Control and Instrumentation). This was a three and a half month training program. It includes Theory and Practical (hands on) sessions where I got an exposure of a very wide range of products & systems, including emphasis on industry applications which do not get covered in college. And that was very helpful to get understanding the concept from the process point of view and industry perspective.

For the 1st month we had a theory session which includes all control and instrumentation Subjects and some specific sessions on Forbes Marshall Products. All these theory sessions’ knowledge we used to apply in our practical sessions. After the theory session there was a theory test just to analyse at what level we understood the concept technically and practically as well. And I am happy to share that I was 2nd in that theory test. Meanwhile we also had some soft skill development sessions with Guest lectures. That helps me a lot to improve myself, like how to present yourself, how to interact with people professionally, how to communicate with the people, etc. All these terms (like how to interact, how to present, punctuality, etc) come into picture when we are entering into the corporate world. And it helps me today also in my current job. So, I can say it’s a lifetime learning. I remember we also had one presentation session, so individually we had to present some topic technical or non-technical in class. So, the advantage of this presentation is that you can talk in front of people (Stage fear will become less), when you are going to present something, you will get more understanding about that topic. Trying to engage the listeners with your presentation is also the skill I can say.

After the theory session we had the two months practical (Hands on) in the company. In this session we also explore and learn many things. Worked actually on the production line. So, each session we had a rating, and again I stood 1st in the overall Training program. This way I finished my training program.

Immediately after finishing the training program, I joined the SHINKAWA division on a contract basis. I worked there for 10 months. I would like to share one thing, during that period another CII batch was going on and they had a session on SHINKAWA (Vibration Monitoring) and our faculty was not available to take that session. I got that opportunity to take the session on SHINKAWA. So, like some days ago I was sitting on the bench and listening to faculty. And that day was exactly the opposite situation. The purpose of telling this is to improve what I feel. Earlier I was just afraid of talking in front of people and that day I took a session for 40-45 mins. It’s one kind of achievement for me.

After 10 months of completion in the SHINKAWA division, I shifted to the DCS division for 6 months. Here also I got the opportunity to work with customers. During this training program, I also participated in a cultural program for 2 years at Forbes Marshall.

During this Journey Mr Dhamankar Sir was the most important person to carry out all this training session smoothly. He supports and helps everyone who needs it. So, thank you so much Sir.

Then I got placed in Emerson Export Engineering Centre, Pune, where I am currently working. But whatever I learned in these three and a half months that will be my Lifetime learning and memories also.

Thank You,
Madhuri Mandve
