Fan malfunction in an analyser impacts the peltier cooler – what is its true impact, and how can we avoid it?
One of the lesser-known, yet common causes of analyser failure is fan malfunction. The fan is a crucial component that helps the peltier cooler maintain the temperature within the analyser. When it fails, internal temperatures begin to rise, going beyond 27°C at the head and 43°C on the microboard. If left unchecked, this can result in a complete breakdown of the peltier cooler and eventual failure of the microboard, both of which are costly to replace and cause significant downtime.
