Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Building a Diverse and Inclusive Future

Our vision is to build an ecosystem that fosters diversity, inclusivity, and an equitable approach to deliver sustainable performance and impact for all stakeholders. We believe that by harnessing the unique talents, perspectives, and experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds, we can foster innovation, drive better decision-making, and create a more harmonious work environment.
We are committed to creating a world-class workplace where everyone can thrive. Our approach is holistic, addressing diversity from multiple angles to create a truly inclusive culture.

Our Structure: Diversity Council and Diversity Champions

At the core of our strategy are our clearly defined Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) goals, which are directly linked to our overall organisational strategy. We have established a dedicated Diversity Council, and a group of Diversity Champions who regularly review these goals and take action to ensure we are meeting them. This structure ensures that our commitment to DEI is not just a statement but an active, ongoing process.

Embracing Different Abilities

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals of all abilities can thrive.

  • Experiential Sensitisation: We have introduced an internship model that provides exposure to candidates with different abilities, matching them with roles that align with their technical competence. Our goal is to provide a seamless transition into the corporate world.
  • Neurodiversity: We recognise the importance of cognitive diversity. We welcome individuals with neurodiverse backgrounds to work in our cafeterias, offering financial support and fostering their confidence. This provides experiential sensitisation for our team members and promotes a culture of inclusion.
  • Vendor Partnerships: We aim to energise communities and support a diverse social ecosystem by collaborating with small organisations and entrepreneurs who champion diversity. Through remote work partnerships and collaborations with diversity-focused agencies, we expand their corporate connections and boost employability.

Breaking Gender Barriers: Going Beyond

At our core, we believe in creating a workplace where competence and dedication are the only keys to success, regardless of gender. Our commitment to gender diversity goes beyond conventional practices.

  • Women in Unconventional Roles: We challenge stereotypes by consistently maintaining a higher percentage of female employees than other manufacturing companies. Our female team members excel in roles across assembly, CNC machines, tool rooms, welding, and field sales, proving that no role is off-limits.
  • Apprenticeship Programme: In just three years, we have increased the representation of women apprentices from 6% to an impressive 38%. These accomplished individuals are seamlessly integrated into roles that align with their competencies.
  • Super 20: Our “Super 20” on-the-job training programme provides early exposure to unconventional roles for women engineers. This programme combines online content with hands-on internships, helping to break down stereotypes and build confidence.
  • LGBTQIA+ Inclusion: We have a phased approach to LGBTQIA+ inclusion, beginning with sensitising our core team and to familiarise everyone with the necessary structural changes.

Cultural and Geographic
Diversity

Our commitment to diversity extends globally and locally.

  • Industry Institute Interface: Our campus hiring strategy has evolved to embrace diversity on multiple fronts. We’ve expanded our geographic reach, with 80% of our new college partnerships extending beyond our home state, actively promoting geographic diversity.
  • Global Exposure: We invite overseas students to work on specific projects with us, which provides our team members with experiential learning on global cultures. Our overseas offices are predominantly staffed by local talent, and our head office team is trained on global cultural nuances.

Reigniting Careers

We believe that a career break should never be a barrier to success.

Second Innings Programme: Our “Second Innings” paid internship programme is designed to instill confidence in individuals who have taken a career break from corporate. This six-month programme provides on-the-job training for those looking to re-enter the corporate world and is open to all genders.

Generational Diversity

We recognise that different generations bring unique perspectives and skills to the workplace.

  • Mentoring and Reverse Mentoring: We foster an environment of continuous learning where members from different generations can learn from one another. This includes structured mentoring programmes as well as informal opportunities for reverse mentoring, where younger team members can share their insights with more experienced colleagues.
  • Peer Groups: Our peer groups offer a space for individuals from different age groups to discuss their dilemmas in closed settings. This initiative, facilitated through our emotional well-being partner, helps build a more positive outlook and a stronger sense of community.
  • Mom@ Work : This programme offers tailored one-on-one coaching to support expecting parents and those with young children. Designed to help women seamlessly return to work, this unique initiative provides a supportive space to navigate the challenges of parenthood.

Vendor Partnerships

We energise our communities by supporting a diverse social ecosystem. This includes supporting diversity within our supply chain partners. By collaborating with businesses that share our values, we create a ripple effect of positive change.

Achieving Milestones Through Various Events and Support

We foster a supportive and inclusive environment through targeted events and programmes.

  • Indian Sign Language Classes: Recognising the need for awareness, we organise workshops with our in-house experts to familiarise members with the basics of Indian Sign Language.
  • Emotional Wellbeing Programme (EWAP): We take a holistic approach to well-being. Professional counselors offer face-to-face, onsite, or phone counseling. We also provide access to dietitians, legal, and financial counseling, along with programmes that build resilience and promote mindfulness.
  • Support Groups: We facilitate access to peer groups for individuals facing similar life challenges. These groups, which cover topics from new parenthood to women in the phase of menopause, provide a valuable sense of community and support.
  • Coaching Programmes: We offer unique one-on-one coaching initiatives for expectant parents, new parents, and women in different age groups to help them navigate career and personal challenges.
