Utility Water Pumps

Utility pumps, which constitute the “first mile” of a plant’s water supply and form the backbone of the water intake and make-up systems for DM plants and cooling towers, are critically important but often overlooked assets. A failure in these pumps can cascade, leading to feed water shortages, disruption of cooling tower operations, and potentially forcing a total plant shutdown. Common challenges include raw water quality variations, pump cavitation, and mechanical wear; therefore, continuous condition monitoring is essential for pre-emptive maintenance, ensuring reliable water availability, and optimising both pump performance and energy consumption.
