Forbes Marshall and UKM: Collaboration for Impactful Solutions

We’re pleased to share that Forbes Marshall has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)—a step forward in building meaningful ties between industry and academia.
This MoU lays the foundation for collaboration in areas that matter to both organisations—research, training, knowledge sharing, and practical industry exposure.
What this MoU highlights
Research and Development
Forbes Marshall and UKM can explore joint research projects focused on real-world challenges in industries like energy, manufacturing, and process automation. The aim is to develop practical solutions that can be implemented in actual industrial settings.
Knowledge Sharing
Through training programmes, workshops, and expert talks, we can work with UKM to offer hands-on exposure to the latest technologies. Forbes Marshall can also support updates to academic content, so students are better prepared for careers in today’s evolving industrial landscape.
Internships and Industry Experience
Forbes Marshall can offer internships to UKM students, giving them valuable insight into how engineering and technology are applied on the ground. These experiences will help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations.
Setting Up a UKM – Forbes Marshall Steam Lab
The MoU also lays the foundation for a steam lab as a space dedicated to research, development, and training in steam engineering, energy efficiency, and process control. It can be a place where students, faculty, and industry professionals can come and work together on practical innovations.
Our mutual shared understanding that practical learning, research, and collaboration can help bring about better solutions—for industry and for the future workforce.
We are glad to partner with UKM and look forward to taking this collaboration forward in a way that benefits students, the university, and the broader community.
