MAHE – Forbes Marshall Centre for Steam Engineering and Energy Conservation

At Forbes Marshall, we have had the privilege of building long-term, meaningful collaborations with our academic partners ranging from regional colleges to premier institutes in India and overseas.
As a further step in this pursuit, the MAHE* – Forbes Marshall Centre for Steam Engineering and Energy Conservation, as a collaboration between Forbes Marshall and MIT Manipal, has been established. The Centre was inaugurated by Mr. Datta Kuvalekar, Co. Chief Operating Officer, Forbes Marshall Pune with Dr. Narayan Sabhahit, Pro Vice Chancellor – Technology & Science MAHE Manipal and Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director MIT Manipal.
The occasion was also graced by the presence of Dr. Chandrakala C. B., Joint Director – MIT, Manipal, Dr. Dattaguru V. Kamath, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering – MIT, Manipal, Dr. Arunachala U Chandavar, Coordinator MAHE-Forbes Marshall Centre for Steam Engineering and Energy Conservation – MIT, Manipal, and Mr. Anant Karegaonkar, Technical Specialist – Forbes Marshall.
The launch of the MAHE-Forbes Marshall Centre for Steam Engineering and Energy Conservation is a landmark event in advancing the cause of greater industry and academic partnerships with the common goal of enhancing the pursuit of research, innovation, and practical learning in steam engineering and energy conservation. This will enable a dynamic interface between industries and academia to bridge synergies to carry out focused research, knowledge sharing, skill building, and undertaking activities such as internships, bilateral expert engagements, value-added competitions, and joint projects. By working towards the challenges posed by sustainable energy consumption, the Centre will help to build greater industry preparedness among graduating students, academic rigor in the industry, and create opportunities for Forbes Marshall and MAHE to develop future-ready engineers who are geared to make a real impact on energy efficiency and sustainability.
The Centre will also serve as a dynamic interface between industry and academia; facilitating initiatives such as bilateral expert engagements, value-added competitions, and collaborative projects. These efforts aim to enhance industry readiness among graduating students as well as academic rigor in the industry.
