OPTIFLUX 4100

The KROHNE OPTIFLUX 4100 is a flanged electromagnetic flowmeter engineered for standard process applications operating under demanding environmental and fluid conditions. The meter features a full-bore flow sensor design devoid of moving parts, ensuring zero internal flow obstruction and minimal pressure loss across the pipeline. Manufactured with a wide range of chemically and mechanically resistant lining materials-including PTFE, PFA, ETFE, hard rubber, soft rubber, and polyurethane (PUR)-the sensor tube maintains structural integrity when exposed to aggressive chemicals or slurries containing up to 10% solid content.

Designed to solve persistent industrial flow metering challenges, the unit operates across process temperatures ranging from -40°C to +180°C and process pressures up to 40 barg. It accommodates conductive liquids with conductivity levels as low as 5 uS/cm, making it an optimal selection for chemical processing, wastewater management, mining slurries, and oilfield fluid tracking. Integrated diagnostic algorithms continuously monitor electrode health, conductivity threshold changes, and process thermal conditions, while an optional IP68 / NEMA 6P enclosure protection rating permits long-term continuous operation in underground chambers or flooded installation pits.

Typical Applications of OPTIFLUX 4100:

  • Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment: Continuous volumetric measurement of raw sewage, activated sludge, and digested chemical effluents.
  • Corrosive Chemical Processing: Metering of conductive acids, bases, black liquor, bleach, and aggressive inorganic reagents across process pipelines.
  • Minerals and Mining Slurry Line Monitoring: Flow rate monitoring for abrasive hydrocyclone feeds, tailings transfer lines, and mineral extraction slurries.
  • Oilfield Fluid Management: High-pressure metering of produced water, drilling mud, and saline water injection streams at the wellhead.
  • Full-Bore Hydrodynamic Sensor Design: Obstructionless internal bore eliminates moving parts, wear, and pressure drop while maintaining a 1000:1 turndown ratio.
  • Versatile Liner and Electrode Material Options: Liner selections in PTFE, PFA, ETFE, hard/soft rubber, or PUR paired with customisable electrode alloys for tailored chemical and abrasion resistance.
  • Advanced In-Situ Diagnostics: Continuous self-monitoring of process temperature, ambient conditions, electrode surface coating, and conductivity limits.
  • Signal Converter Compatibility: Operates with KROHNE IFC 050, IFC 100, and IFC 300 transmitters, enabling compact, wall-mount, or remote electronics configurations.
  • On-Site Field Verification: Fully compatible with the OPTICHECK service tool for recalibration and diagnostic validation without breaking pipeline seals.
