The Compact Module Two Orifice Float Trap meets the need of high discharge capacity at start-up and low capacity during continuous operation with a high turndown ratio. The operating principle of the compact module float trap is similar to a standard ball float trap where the opening and closing of the orifice is caused by changes in the condensate level within the trap shell. However, two orifices operated in series by a single float in a sequential pattern, make the Compact Module Two Orifice Float Trap unique.
During start-up and peak or high load conditions, additional lift of the float causes the second orifice to open, thereby enabling the Compact Module Two Orifice Float Trap to handle both conditions intelligently.
